Lithuania R4W Offline Dissemination

Lithuanian team member Danielė organised a presentation for her classmates. Here is her feedback about this activity:

During our lessons at the Art School of Panevėžys, I showed a presentation to a group (consisting of 11 people) of 17–18-year-old students about the Erasmus+ project I participated in, which took place in Romania from October 23rd to November 2nd. I introduced the main theme of the project - youth unemployment - and explained why it is an important issue for young people entering the job market. I described how the project was structured, presenting the daily schedule and outlining the different activities we completed.

These included practical workshops such as writing a professional CV, preparing a personal motivation statement, and taking part in simulated job interviews. The students were particularly interested when I talked about the cultural aspects of the exchange. I explained how each country prepared a cultural evening, shared traditional music and food, and presented unique customs. I also showed photos of our venue and the local surroundings, which helped them imagine the atmosphere of the project. Overall, the presentation gave my classmates a clear understanding of what an Erasmus+ youth exchange looks like and how it can help young people develop useful skills, discover new cultures, and build confidence for their future careers. They asked several questions at the end, showing genuine curiosity and enthusiasm about taking part in a similar opportunity.

This experience helped me understand how challenging it can be to keep young people focused during a presentation. For this reason, instead of speaking for a long time, I chose to use more visual material and explained the project’s activities through photos. This approach worked much better, because the images made the content easier to follow and helped me clearly present the project’s main goals. Throughout the presentation, my classmates stayed silent, paid attention, and showed real interest in what I was sharing. I realised that personal experience, combined with engaging visuals, can have a stronger impact than a traditional speech.

One important insight was that by sharing my positive experience, I might have encouraged some students to step out of their comfort zones and consider taking part in Erasmus+ projects themselves. Several classmates later told me that the presentation made them curious about international opportunities and helped them see such projects as less intimidating.

Our teacher also reacted positively. She asked detailed questions about the atmosphere in Romania and wanted to know how I adapted to communicating with young people from different countries. Her interest made me reflect on the social skills I developed during the exchange, such as teamwork, communication, and cultural openness.

For the presentation, I used PowerPoint slides with photos from the project. These visuals played an essential role in making the content engaging and accessible for everyone.
